On Thursday afternoon, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb asked all Indiana schools to remain closed until May 1 as a precautionary measure for the COVID-19 virus.
That will take place Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays of each week beginning March 31. Students also will be able to access their materials outside of these times, but this is when teachers will be available for help.
Spring break will still be the week of March 23 through 27. There will be no lunch served or eLearning during this week. Lunch will resume March 30 and be served each weekday thereafter from 11 a.m. to noon.
This time of year, students would normally be gearing up for standardized testing. This has been canceled for the 2019-20 school year.
As of right now, graduation will remain scheduled for May 22 as long as school is back in session after May 1.
